I hope you’re week started off well. It suddenly most definitely feels like Autumn here. We have still had warm days, but the mornings have had that “winter is coming” chill to them. As a kid I absolutely hated the cold weather. I used to swear I would never live here when I had a choice because I couldn’t stand the cold. In fact I moved to Brisbane for 2 years as an adult to escape the cold and for a change.
But now I’m older I like more variety, I love the snow and I realize that you can heat your house. I swear when I was a kid few people I knew actually heated their houses here as it doesn’t get cold the way it does in other places, so people saved the money and just rugged up. Now we have a beautiful gas heater. It makes the world of difference.
As part of my make my own snacks experiment I decided to try out some date and cashew balls. They are really easy, no bake, and taste like a bit of a treat.
I am definitely not a talented food photographer. I don’t have an amazing camera and I don’t know what I’m doing. Something to work on, because I love looking at those beautiful food blogs.
Anyway, here’s how you make Date and Cashew Balls:
1 cup of Dates
1 cup of Cashews
1/2 cup of Cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Put all the ingredients in the food processor and mix thoroughly.
Once you have a obtained a smooth (ish) texture/ consistency, take them out and shape them into balls.
Put them into the fridge for two hours to set and then they are ready to eat!
What is your favourite climate to live in? How was your weekend? What is your favourite snack?
