When life gives you lemons, make lemonade – Easy Homemade Lemonade

lemonade stand!

Hello!

The weekend is over! And it is a fresh week and a fresh start. Time to get out of my negative bubble.

I thought I’d keep today’s post light and simple! And share with you my lemonade recipe! It is easy and delicious- or so I’m told. I actually can’t handle drinking lemonade too frequently as anything acidic gives me mouth ulcers/ canker sores. So this is a recipe to be shared with friends and family.

Before I go into the recipe- I have to go off on a little tangent. Look what I found on my girls’ bedroom floor tonight!!!!!

Funnel Web with mites

Now this is NOT my photo. I can’t take such clear pictures but also I wouldn’t spend the time zooming in closely to get a picture like that. So creepy. I thought it was dead too and went to get the vacuum and it started trying to move.

I know I’m Australian I should be used to spiders, and I am. I don’t start screaming or run. I actually spent a summer at Uni working in a spider lab. But I also don’t want them in my house and most definitely not anywhere near my girls.

Gah, so sorry for sharing that. Had to get it out of my system. On a positive note I found a piano today! Well a full size upright Roland Keyboard. And by found I literally mean found- sounds a bit dodgy doesn’t it!?! Two or three times a year here our local council will pick up your old “big” waste for free on a set day. Usually things like furniture, toys, and old garage junk. Well this time round one of my neighbours happened to be getting rid of their keyboard. Perfectly fine, working keyboard. So luckily we saw it and grabbed it. I’ve played the piano since I was really young but I haven’t had one for quite a few years. I am so excited!!! Full sized keyboards are ridiculously expensive.

Anyway, back to the recipe! Homemade lemonade!

Day 139 - IF you Run, Jog or Cycle Look below O_O

Ingredients:

4-5 lemons

3 cups of water

3/4 cup of raw sugar

Method:

Juice the lemons- they should give you approximately 1 cup of lemon juice.

Pour the lemon juice and 2 cups of water into the jug you want to hold your lemonade in.

Take the sugar and the remaining cup of water and put it in a saucepan on the stove.

Turn the heat right up and stir continuously until the sugar is all dissolved.

Pour the sugar solution into the jug and shake!

Place it into the fridge to cool down for a few hours.

And on that note, I hope you all have a beautiful week! Funnel Web Spider free!

    • Can’t believe it is snowing htere! I’ve been complaining about the cold over here and it is actually probably beautiful weather if I was used to Canada Cold!

    • Yeah I love love love to play, it relaxes me but I haven’t had a piano since moving out of home many many years ago. So I’ve had to sneak in little sessions on others pianos.

  1. Eeeeeeekkkk!!! I can’t get over that spider! I am not afraid of many things but I hate, hate, HATE spiders!!! The worst is when I find one and my husband is not around…then I have to kill it because I couldn’t stand knowing it was creeping through my house. Yikes!

Thanks for sharing your lemonade recipe. The weather is supposed to get warm this week in Portland and I need something cheerful and happy to make. Perfect. 🙂

  2. When my best friend and I were little we found a lemonade recipe and had seen our fair share of American sitcoms where the kids make and sell lemonade, so tried to do it ourselves. The problem was it was the middle of the day and we lived in a cul-de-sac with no through traffic.

I think we just drank it all, though perhaps our parents ‘bought’ some….

PS. Hate spiders. Though hate snakes and sharks more!

    • I’m with you on the predator order, sharks then snakes then spiders! Luckily spiders are rare in these parts. And despite living very close to the beach I’ve never seen one in Sydney! Did see a big one in Noosa though, and I was out of the water so fast!

I also grew up on a culdesac and tried to sell lemonade! Haha sales were poor.

  3. Jess, it is like you read my mint. I just got done telling Joshua last night how I’ve been craving for some homemade lemonade! No joke =) Great minds think a like I guess??!! Or maybe it’s just the name? 🙂

  4. Oh my goodness… I don’t drink lemonade so I saw one glimpse of that terrible spider and just zoomed down here to comment! Yikes!!
Glad you’re having a positive perspective about your upcoming week. I really hope it goes well for you. My Tuesday is a bit cramped (I think there are multiple times I need to be in two places at once) but the rest of the week seems like it will go smoothly (famous last words?).
