Skipping (jump rope) workout!

Hello!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Yay for the weekend! If only there were more of them…

Anyway, for those who wanted to join me on my skipping (jump rope) adventure I thought I would post a skipping workout. This is for those starting out or beginner skippers (jump ropers). However, skipping is by no means easy or low impact, as it obviously involves repeated jumping. And I promise you, you will most definitely not look cool doing this workout. I think my neighbours are wondering if I had a head injury recently that knocked a few years off me (mentally).

Obviously this is not me skipping. But it is a photo of me looking like a dork next to a stuffed frog in Vegas… Random. Yes. Probably evidence that I did have a few years knocked off of me. I probably look about 10x more random skipping in the front yard. I thought I would spare you all that lovely photo!

Please note before beginning any new exercise routine check with your Doctor. If you feel overly tired, in pain, sick, dizzy or light headed stop immediately and see your doctor. This is a high impact workout. Please take breaks and insert modifications as needed.

Warm up 5 minutes cardio of choice

2 minutes skip with a double break bounce (you jump over the rope then jump again before you swing the rope around)

2 minutes jog or march on the spot

1 minute skip one bounce (no break bounce, one jump per swing)

Cool down and stretch. Make sure you particularly stretch out your calves and quads. Don’t forget your arms.

This workout is intended to help you build up to skipping non stop in the future. 🙂

I hope you all hit the town and party it up for me this weekend!

Lots of love,

Jess xoxox

Does anyone else feel like a dork working out? Even when I have brand new gym gear I never really feel stylish. But I don’t care when I’m working out because I sort of feel the worse I look after the better the workout.
