Life Lately!

Hello!

How have you all been? It has been ages between posts. Because life has been really hectic.

I mentioned that we were moving in my last post and we did it! But wow, it has been an overwhelming amount of work. And to be honest it has not only limited my time, but gotten me a bit down. We still have boxes to unpack and I don’t know where everything is going to go still. We need to buy some basic furniture, like bookcases and drawers, so until we get that all organised I can’t put everything away. Our budget is much much much more limited so unfortunately we can’t just go out and get everything we need, we have to spread it out amongst pay checks.

Honestly, all first world problems right!? And I am starting to see the end in sight. I am just hoping to really have it in order well before Christmas.

Apart from moving, everything is going well. It has just been busy. Everything is winding up, but not without celebrations, dinners, presentations and last minute catch ups. I am looking forward to having a day where we can just go slow, no where to be, no one to meet and nothing urgently to be done.

Because our apartment still looks like a bit of a disaster I will share some pictures of our balcony view and the surrounding area. We are really lucky being so close to the beach and the lake! I love the water and the kids do too. So it has really been wonderful. Helps me put it all back into perspective too, when I am whinging in my head about the never ending mess.

What is new with you? Have you moved recently? Or been in your place for awhile?

  1. Moving is stressful and it takes a while to get settled – at least it does for me! I lived most of my life in one place, then moved three times within 6 years. We’ve been in our current house for 15 years now, and I’m in no rush to move again.

    Hang in there! 🙂

  2. Whoever said that moving is an adventure was quite an optimist! I’m sure it will all straighten out soon and definitely be worth it for your family, Jess.

The best things that have happened to me recently was a great visit from my dad, and seeing my old karate instructor after 30 years and sharing memories.

  3. Oh that moving stuff is stressful Jess, so don’t be too hard on yourself but the view is lovely and it seems as if the girls are loving their new place. I’m sure you’ll have it all set up in no time at all, but doing bits at a time is kinda nice as it gives you more time to think about what you want / need!
