August Goals

August GoalsHello!

Welcome to August! July was a bit of a horror month for me (not to be dramatic or anything). I did have an awesome trip away, but the aftermath since has not been fun. Proof holidays need to last longer!

Anyway, I hope your week is starting off well! August is officially the last month of winter! Woot woot! I don’t love winter, hence naming my youngest Summer. However, I need to enjoy the rest of the cold season and get productive. So I thought I’d share with you some goals for this month.

  • I want to blog more and do it more regularly. I know I say this a lot and then life gets in the way, but this may be the month I can fit it in!
  • I want to improve the quality of my blogging content, including the quality of the graphics, which has always been a weakness for me.
  • And that brings me to my next point I have formed a new affiliate partnership with * that I will tell you more about in the near future. However, don’t worry it will not become a blogomercial.
  • I am going to trial doing some regular posts on skin care. Once again they will not take over my blog but will hopefully be complementary to it.
  • I want to focus even more on developing a business I have been working on and I will fill you in more soon.
  • I want to get out more and fit in more exercise that I enjoy doing rather than just do for the sake of it. I have already started taking steps towards this one, including signing up for a Mums and Bubs pole dancing class! That’s right… I will definitely blog about that one!
  • I want to continue to work on confidence because that affects all aspects of my life. I know I know a very broad statement, a more specific approach is being worked on.
  • I want to really enjoy the days my twins have at home with me and get out and about in Sydney with them. They are going to school next year so this special time is feeling more limited.
  • I want life to be more fun and less stressful, so I am going to work very hard on the aspects of this which are under my control. This one kind of involves things which are extremely boring to me like getting more organised (I may be allergic to systems and routines). However, despite my ongoing allergy I do realise the value of not always living life on the sporadic and going with the flow. Sometimes, especially when you know the flow it helps to plan… even if it is boring.

Have you made any goals for August? Do you like routines and plans? Or do you like to live life on the spontaneous side?

  1. Yeah, it’s all downhill now as you move from the cold of winter and I from the heat of summer 🙂

Wow, you have a pretty extensive list there! I hope you are not being too hard on yourself, Jess, and that you also take the time to appreciate all that you have accomplished. I think you know that I am more direction oriented rather than goal oriented. Perhaps it’s just semantics.

PS: I’m fine with avocados and potatoes. That was added by my editor.

    • Glad to hear you like potatoes and avocados! They are pretty awesome! Yes direction oriented is a good way to be lately I feel as though I need more concrete plans, I think it is an illusion to feel more in control perhaps

  2. I’m with you on the blog graphics. My book review posts are fine but I know a lot of people make their own pics / meme things with quotes and I’d like to do more of that.

I’ve also just agreed to go back to the personal trainer I was seeing here last year and do a 12wk session. It’s not very cheap but I’ve started to think about weight loss surgery I’m so desperate. I’m not sure he’s the best trainer here but I don’t know of any others and he at least knows me. I’ve told him I’ll start next Friday (as I’m in Brissy for part of next week). I’ll get 3 PT sessions a week and have to get weighed and measured monthly. I’m just hoping I start to care a little more about what I put in my mouth as I’ve been terrible lately.

    • Yes we shall see whether I can stick to it or at least be guided by it
Sometimes I think I am overambitious and then achieve none of it!

  3. I blog 1x a week, sometimes – if I have a campaign – I might post an extra day… But generally TUESDAY is my day and as long as I know that, I ALWAYS POST! So perhaps you should select one or two days of the week you want to post and just put it in your schedule… Much like brushing your teeth, you just do it 😉

  4. Ugh, I hate winter too, but we’re moving towards it now, and not away from it here in New England. Boo!
I guess my August goals all concern doing everything I wanted to do this summer, but without going too crazy trying to fit in too much.
As for blogging, I do some sponsored stuff so I want to make sure I’m around 50% or more doing original posts too!

    • Yes you always find a good balance with your blog posts! I shouldn’t complain our winter is so mild, but no one heats their houses around here. So I do complain. Looking forward to Summer!
