April Goals!

St. John's International School MeetHello!

Wow! How did we already get to April!? This  year, in fact my whole life seems to just be racing by. Can time slow down just a little bit please?

I wanted to set some new goals as I am realising that it is harder to achieve some of what I wanted to achieve and other goals have been easier to realise. So I guess it is more a shift of priorities that I need to make.

I am going to prioritise my goals, so this post is largely about my personal goals.  A lot of my day to day life is spent trying to achieve things for other people. It is my job and for that I am very grateful. I really enjoy taking care of my family. However, sometimes there are things that you want to get done for yourself so that in the long term you can still be in a position to be there for others. Does that makes sense? SO I am going to try and prioritise those things!

I want to downsize and declutter. This is a continuing, work in progress goal. We have a tiny amount of room that fills up so quickly. My plan is sell stuff on eBay, sell stuff at the Babies and Kids market and then Donate the rest!

I want to focus on my business goals and career goals. I know this is a vague goal, I will expand on this in a later post. However, today I will spare you from boring you all with lists of goals within this goal.

I want to blog more and write more in general. I really enjoy writing, but it always gets pushed to the back burner.

I want to get better about scheduling in exercise time. I have been able to do a lot more this year than last year, but there is more I could do and want to do.

I want to sign up for another race with my kids!

I want to spend more time with friends and family!

Travel! (Pipe dream that will never die)

Get back to enjoying cooking… not sure how to achieve this one! If anyone has ideas let me know! I get so bored and over the daily cooking grind sometimes.

I want to incorporate more meditation and yoga into my day!

And enjoy day to day life!

Have you got any big up and coming goals?

  1. All worthy goals, Jess!

I’ll never forget the time, just a few days after my 21st birthday. I was in a cab with a few strangers heading to the train station to go back to college after the Thanksgiving break, and I mentioned to the woman sitting next to me about my birthday. She said referring to her life, “After you turn 21, the time just flies!” I remember as a kid, a rainy day could last forever, lol!

  2. Wow – lots of goals for April, but perhaps some are just the first steps for the goal!

I want to start feeling a bit healthier. I’ve quit my circuit class and don’t quite know why. I feel very porky and unhealthy.

I’ve actually started a daily ‘to do’ list. Lists stress me but help me feel in control at the same time. Like you though I want to be realistic about what I can and can’t do. No point in adding to my stress myself!

    • TOtally agree with you on lists, I am not a “list” person except in the workplace. They stress me too, but they do help make you feel more in control. Yes this is more a pipe dream list but good to have some goals I guess.

  3. I need to do the de-cluttering thing too, but it is something I find very difficult.

As for cooking, it is one of those things I can enjoy when I am not feeling any time pressure. Most of the time during the week, I just want something quick that is not going to make a mess to clean up, because I already feel like I have too many things to do. It used to be that I would do more on weekends, but now I find even on weekends it seems like too much effort.

    • Sometimes I find it really challenging too! I agree with you on cooking, when I am under pressure, which seems like most of the time now it is far less enjoyable!

  4. i’ve been better about organizing my planner and keeping a to do list, it’s been helping a LOT with just being more organized and getting my stuff done

as for cooking, i can definitely help with that! 😉

    – what’s your favorite thing to make? or favorite thing to eat? try one of these: make one of your staples, but jazz it up with some new spices or a new way of cooking (on the grill instead of inside, roast veggies instead of sautee/steam). OR just make one of your favorite dishes that you love to make, it’ll bring you back to why you love it. OR use one of your favorite take outs as inspiration: you’ll be able to control the flavors, and use fresh food. or use a restaurant favorite to inspire you- get creative and try something adventurous!!

-other than that- read blogs! surf the net! i am always itching to get in the kitchen when i read about people trying new recipes 🙂 you will have more boookmarked recipes than days to try them in no time!!

i hope your goals are going well 🙂
