Acne Elimination Diet Update

Hey!

You may or may not remember I went on an acne elimination diet for a month to clear up my skin. It worked quite well! I actually thought there was no way it would. So I was pleasantly surprised.

The last month or so I have been reintroducing foods to figure out some of the triggers for breakouts.

For me the worst offenders are wheat, dairy (especially milk), refined sugars and sometimes chicken. Chicken seems to depend my guess is on whether or not it was pumped with hormones. Sometimes I have no reaction and other times a big reaction. Other minor offenders seem to be eggs, coffee and artificial sweeteners.

So with this knowledge of what triggers my breakouts I won’t completely cut out / banish foods from my diet. I will definitely eat less of the trigger foods. But you know if I’m out at a cafe and really want a milkshake. No Big Deal.

Do you have any food intolerances or allergies? Have you ever detoxed or gone on an elimination diet?

Lots of love,

  1. I did the Whole30 elimination diet and found dairy does not agree with me at all when I reintroduced it. I haven’t tried wheat, grains or sugar and want to keep them off limits as much as possible.

    • I have heard lots of good things about the Whole30 elimination diet. I need to read up on it! I never realized I had any problems with dairy until I cut it out.

  2. I’m glad you were able to figure out what triggers your acne! When I was younger, I had terrible skin. Fortunately as I changed my eating habits and started drinking more habits, my face instantly cleared up. I know it sounds cliche but the foods we eat really make a huge difference to our overall welllbeing.
